About us

Eddie Linehan

Eddie’s father, John, purchased store horses over the years to run in point-to-points, and it was from there that Eddie’s love for bloodstock began. He started working with Willie Mullins when he was 15 before moving to the UK at 18 to work with Nicky Henderson, riding 25 winners (both flat and NH) across Ireland and the UK.

In 2015, Eddie began purchasing yearlings to prepare for the breeze-up sales and has steadily increased the operation every year since. In 2018, he purchased Champers Elysees for €27,000, which went on to win twice at Group level for Johnny Murtagh.

Dan O'Meara

Growing up just a stones throw from Lackendarra Stables in Mallow, Co. Cork, Dan has a degree in Commerce from University College Cork. and joined Linehan Bloodstock in 2020.

Prior to this, Dan spent time working for Kildangan Stud in Ireland, Newsells Park Stud in England and Segenhoe Stud in Australia. His first year pin-hooking yearlings to sell at the breeze up sales, resulted in a 140% increase on his initial investment.

Aisling Crowe

Having been introduced to the bloodstock world through her work for the Racing Post, Aisling quickly developed a love for this aspect of the industry and her work has become focused on bloodstock and breeding.

Aisling is the first Irish-based bloodstock reporter for the Racing Post and through her work as a bloodstock writer, has developed a reputation as a pedigree analyst, assisting Linehan Bloodstock with the identification of suitable yearling and foal purchases and drawing up mating plans for clients' broodmare bands.

John Linehan

John is the most experienced team member and it's from him that Eddie and Denis got their interest and knowledge of bloodstock.

Among the many stars John purchased throughout his career is two-time Grade 1 winner Oscars Well in 2008 who he purchased for €8,000 before selling privately weeks before his first bumper win. This was no fluke with John purchasing numerous stakes performers on the flat as well as over jumps, many of which were purchased at great value.

Denis Linehan

With 500 rides and 45 winners during a 4 year apprenticeship with Johnny Murtagh, Denis went on to do a 2 year stint with multiple group 1 winning trainer Peter Snowden in Sydney Australia.

This allowed Denis gain a good viewpoint of international racing where he learned about their unique training methods and the type of horses it takes to compete in Australia. In 2020, Denis returned to Ireland and started pin-hooking horses. Denis then commenced an assistant trainer role to Johnny Murtagh on the Curragh.

David Mullins

David Mullins is a former national-hunt jockey and steeped in racing tradition. Son of Tom Mullins and grandson of legendary trainer Paddy Mullins, David rode 211 winners in Ireland, including 9 Grade 1's. He also won the 2016 Aintree Grand National aboard Rule The World, aged just nineteen.

Since retiring in early 2021, David has focussed his efforts on bloodstock and has had great success at the sales, purchasing Court Maid for €1,800 (won €170,000) and Scoir Mear for €2,500 (won €180,000). David now works closely with Eddie and the Linehan Bloodstock at all of the major flat and national-hunt sales.
